The New Fusion technology is based on a phenomenon called triplet-triplet annihilation (TTA) which is a process in which two triplet excitons annihilate and produce a higher energy singlet exciton. While the quantum efficiency is lower than that of the phosphorescent OLEDs, the voltage required to drive the device is actually about half of what is required for phosphorescent OLEDs.
